San Francisco - Day Excursions

City Tour with Dim Sum Lunch

Your tour begins with a drive along Embarcadero, by the Ferry Building towards Downtown San Francisco.  Continue on to Union Square and then head toward the famous Nob Hill for a photo stop and a visit to Grace Cathedral.  Continue to the Civic Center and view City Hall.  Then it's on to Chinatown for a Dim Sum lunch at one of Chinatown's most popular restaurants.  After lunch, ride through the streets of North Beach, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli Square and by the Palace of Fine Arts.

Muir Woods & Sausalito

Across the bay, San Francisco is known for its charming towns and beautiful landscape.  On this tour, you will explore the postcard-perfect town of Sausalito, a charming town and an artist's colony with a Mediterranean flair.  You'll also have the opportunity to visit Muir Woods, a 550-acre National Monument and home to towering coastal redwoods, some of the tallest and oldest trees in the world.

Alcatraz & Sausalito

Depart the Wharf area and board the Alcatraz ferry to Alcatraz Island.  Enter the notorious prison as an audio tour fills you with images of the old prison yard.  Return to San Francisco via ferry to board your bus for a journey across the Golden Gate Bridge, en route to Sausalito Village known as the Venice of the Pacific.  Continue on to Fisherman's Wharf where you may stay in the center of Ghirardelli Square (former home of the city's Chocolate factory), or return directly to your ship.

Alcatraz & Fisherman's Wharf

The Alcatraz ferry awaits your arrival to take you to the notorious prison that once housed the likes of Al Capone and the Birdman of Alcatraz.  During your ferry ride, enjoy a panoramic view of the famous San Francisco skyline and prepare to explore the 'Rock'.  Tour the small jail cells as an audio tour fills you with images of days gone by.  Return to San Francisco by ferry, where the Fisherman's Wharf area is just a short walk along the Embarcadero.

Sonoma Wine Country

Your scenic drive begins as you travel west by Pier 39, lively Fisherman's Wharf, along the Marina District, by the Palace of Fine Arts and the Presidio.  You'll continue to drive north over the Golden Gate Bridge for a brief photo stop at Vista Point.  Then it's on to Sonoma for wine tasting, where you'll visit two wineries located in the Carneros Region, with time in between for lunch on your own at Sonoma Town Plaza.  You'll return to San Francisco by way of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge to view the city's picturesque skyline.

Views Of San Francisco

Drive along the Embarcadero toward downtown San Fransisco and continue on Market Street with a photo stop at Twin Peaks.  Then it's off to Golden Gate Park and the DeYoung Museum and Gardens with a brief stop made near Cliff House on the Pacific coast, before continuing past the Palace of Leagion of Honor and along the coastal road to the Golden Gate Bridge.  From there you'll drive past the Cannery, Ghirardelli Square and the lively Fisherman's Wharf area.

Chinatown With Dim Sum Lunch

Travel by motorcoach through the streets of San Francisco to Chinatown.  Enter through the Pagoda Gate and admire the Pagoda-style buldings while exploring Chinatown up-close and personal.  your tour includes a Dim Sum lunch at one of Chinatown's popular restaurants before returning to your ship.
